they were reluctant when I

they were reluctant when I spoke to them as my seat base was a new build - not old stock, they can still sell you the njoy runners and fab a base yourself.

I'm tempted to try overseas or japan direct for the seat base for my passengers side.

Recaro japan also lists these guys:

Lights.. 2nd version.

saturday, just before i went back to work I decided to change the projector shrouds that I was going to use.  even though the 1st set ever got on the car...

I bought a new set of projector shrouds from TRS and IMO, they suit the headlight housing better.  I then matched it with their 100mm angel eyes and is mounted behind the projectors

here's several pics of how they look.  Hopefully I can install it on my car when i get back this coming RnR.

HID ballasts and wiring harness are already in the car, so the install should be straight forward

paint protection

What do you use for ceramic paint protection ? I have heard of it but could not find anyone giving me a brand name, where to buy ? ease of use ?....

I would like to use it to protect the side of the my 4x4 against bush stripe.

turbo time

well, since this car's gonna sit around and not do anything for a bit.  Will whack on the turbo and see how it goes

so far, here are the things I've already acquired

T25 flanged 4G93 Turbo Manifold (cast)

TD04L-15T

Sard FPR

Walbro Fuel Pump 255 (out of my vr4)

600cc siemens also 390cc denso injectors (both High Z) (wont install this until tuning the ecu)

intercooler is at home (550x 200x76@ 2.5" in/outlets)

Turbosmart Wastegate (38mm)

Magnaflow 2.5" chambered muffler.

2.5" butt welds - straight 1m and several 90° bends

o2 Sensor weld in bung (SS and mild - wasn't sure which way I was going)

1/4" aluminum tubing for the oil lines

3/8" aluminum tubing for the coolan lines

T piece for the oil pressure so I can tap the oil line going into the turbo

Bunch of Proflow fittings from VPW

Rubber hoses for oil and coolant (proper ones)

Things to buy

aluminum heat shields - ones that you can mould to whatever shape you're after

2.5" cat converter

2.5" Stainless steel Donuts or 90° bends (several)

2.5" Stainless steel straight pipes

2.5" SS 2 hole flanges

2.5" flange gaskets

and maybe... a BIG maybe Apexi SAFC Neo.  In case no one is interested iin tuning my ecu.  worst case get  full ecu like Haltech

Few things to consider

Boost control - wastegate is set at 7psi, so I shouldn't have to worry about controlling the boost, unless I want to go higher

AFR monitoring - but Im sure I won't drive it unless, it's 100% done.

Ignition has been upgrade with COPs, unless Im told by the tuner i need better ones.

Car won't be trashed or used in any extreme way, I just want the turbo installed as I would like to have that power/push when needed and that I already have spent the $$ for the gear.

comments, suggestions and advices are always welcome :)

Another impressive mod, this should bring your io to a whole new level. I will follow this up....IO can take a while to sell, give it some time, yours looks to be in good condition and with an attractive numbers of kms.

Happy io

not much happening

with Turbo? none...

I ordered several manifold gaskets, (stock 2.0 and exhaust flange - after the manifold) so I can do a mock fit of the turbo and manifold to ensure it'll fit properly.  dumps will be easy to fabricate after that.

better to have that spare gaskets, in case the ones I pull out crumble into pieces

small update

hey all, just couple of small updates.

1. need to re-do my projector retrofit as the amber plate (indicator) on the passenger side has come off the oe shroud and is rattling a bit.

2. friend of mine who's got an evo 6 gave me his 100 cell cat and 10" length resonator.  they are both 2.5" which is what I am after.  I now have all the parts for the exhaust replacement. (chambered muffler, 2 hole mount flanges, rubber hangers and etc have been waiting)

3. Tidied up the COP harness and made it in 1 wiring sleeve, rather than spaghetti like looking set.  No pictures as I did this quickly

4. Side Mirrors, I managed to acquire a set of chrome side mirrors, electric folding ones out of the 2G Pajero.  I suspected that they do fit and took a gamble.  Which I believe paid out.  Only thing for me to source out is the 2 wires and for the fold electronics. IO's got 3 wires and the 2G's got 5.. easy enough to figure out.  Base of the 2G mirrors are cast aluminum and seems pretty solid compared to the plastic ones out of the IO's

5.  Sad part was that my weather shield cracked the moment I tried to test the mirror, so I have removed it totally (not in the pic)
