Windguards

Sorry, I don't want to spoil the sell, but I am not sure that the 4 doors are the same as the 2 doors, again I can be wrong....

Happy io

Hi, Its your call if you want

Hi, Its your call if you want them, but a google search of io's suggests to me its the same body shape for 2 and 4 door. The front door share is the same from what I can see. Anyway, see how you go, the guards are here if you want them!

windguards

I've been thinking to remove mine also - what did you use to remove the gunk holding them on?

A combo of eucalyptus oil and

A combo of eucalyptus oil and methylated spirit on a rag. I think Euc oil is better. Its left a very slight discoloration of the black paint in places but you only notice if you really look. I dont know that what I did caused that, it may have been the adhesives used on the guard.

Opensea64: congratulations on

Opensea64: congratulations on 308,000klms. I guess that you recently had to get a new timing belt, and so you are hoping that the motor will go for some reasonable time yet. I have done 225,000klms. I am hoping that I can get well beyond 300,000klms. I also have a Mazda BT-50 diesel, and I read some where that the design life of the engine is 400,000klms. Based on that I wouldn't think that the over-worked little 1.8 liter petrol engine in my iO would last as long. A few years back, I asked my local Mitsubishi service manager when could I expect to have to get the head taken off, and the valves ground, and he said that nothing like that needed doing until 300,000klms.

I change timing belts every

I change timing belts every 100,000 km so this is the 3rd one. Ive had old cars in the past, but this engine is doing pretty well (touch wood)

I have the dreaded flashing 2 front wheels  light issue at the moment, so having a mech look at that soon . $$$$

2dr vs 4dr

Hey guys just a FYI, yes there is a diff between the two models. The 2dr has a much larger door than the 4 door. Thats the case with all 2 door models.

Cheers 4 eers

I'd buy them...

But I'm a little skeptical on the sizing between the 2dr and 4dr versions.

I have the 2dr Io. Fielies, could you post the link from where you got the information from?
