Noone in Australia seems to be able to supply oversized conrod or mains bearings for a 4G18, just wondering if anyone from other countries might know a supplier.  I have emailed a couple of places in Malaysia with limited luck.

4g18 rebuild

I hate when this happen...we go on the moon but we can't get parts for the cars...

This is way, way too many sign...engine gave up, hard to find another one, the head on the second hand doesn't fit, the second had engine got something wrong, can get parts to fix the old one...you may have to give up the 1.6 litre !

I hope that you will find a good solution...

Happy io

Crap!, who would have

Crap!, who would have thought! are there bearings from anything else that will fit? DO you definatly need OS bearings? your journals are stuffed? I have managed to only need a linish of every 4g54 i have ever built.  Motors with 300k on them.. but they have massive bearings I guess.

The workshop working the crankshaft for me knows my family. So I doubt they would ask for os unless it was definitely needed. I suspect its been damaged by the conrod. The 4g18 is crap for parts here as the engine was only release in Australia for two years. Plenty of parts in Malaysia though. Should have some soon.
