1.8 gdi transferbox question

hi all 

newbie question. my 1.8 pinin has no low ranger lever but have noticed that where the lever goes in the transfer box is a plate.

question is are the low range gears in the box and they just dont fit the lever?

No

No - you have the AWD or All Wheel Drive version, always in 4H, no lockable center differential and no reduction gears.
