HI Forum,

Can anyone here with a 2.0L auto Pajero IO (4G94 MPI) please tell me if they know / have been been able to get the transfer case off their auto transmission without having to drop the transmission out of the car?

The car is a 2002 Pajero IO 2.0L auto - Australian build H77W

Looking at doing a 1:1.925 low range mod but do not want to have to disconnect / reconnect the auto transmission in and out of the car.

Thanks in advance,

Simmo

transfer case

I haven't done it on the auto but I have done it on the manual.

Not 100% sure but why couldn't you ? what cannot you done that way that you could do with the complete gearbox out ? Yes you will have more room, and yes once the all lot is out it is then easier, but is it worth the extra work ?

I done mine without taking the gearbox out is mainly because it is very heavy.
