Cambelt

Yep did mine a year or so ago. If I recall right I just had it in 5th gear with the handbrake on. Don't be tempted to try the rope trick - rope down #1 spark plug to jam the piston. It's possible to bend a valve.

If your problem is leverage - a longer handle socket wrench, or a pipe extension. Assuming you've got a 3/4" socket drive and the right size socket?.

Ahh never thought of that!

Ahh never thought of that! Ha, 5th gear with the brakes on, I might apply a little heat with a heat gun too :)

Thanks

crank pulley

You have a special tool to hold the pulley, here is an example   http://compare.ebay.com.au/like/251201255098?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes

What I don't like about this design is the fact that the "handle" is a bit short and can be hard to hold while removing the center nut.

but with a bit of time you can built one yourself....50 cm (or more) tube (thick wall), weld a "V" shape at on end (to position on the pulley) a thread going through with a bike chain welded or bolted to the thread (on the chain side, to go around the pulley), a big washer and a nut at the other end. install the chain in the groove of the pulley, tight the nut, the tube will then act as a stopper while you remove the pulley.
