Centre difflock engaging well but disengaging variably

Thanks for a great forum. Have tried to find an answer to this amongst your resources but can't quite see the answer to this question...

Having a SuperSelect issue. Engages reasonably reliably from 2H to 4H, disengages well. Engages well into 4HLc and 4LLc, but centre difflock doesn't reliably disengage when switching to 4H, just flashes. Also, sometimes going from 4HLc to 4LLc the front wheels disengage completely. Occasionally, 'wiggling' the gearstick around a bit more seems to get rid of the light and disengage the centre difflock, as does the old reversing straightback trick.

I have checked the actuator on the front differential - moves with engaging 4H. Sprayed liberally with good lubricant for good measure.

Is this a fault with the gearstick communicating with the ECU - do I need to simply remove the floor console with the sticks and give the connections a clean (if possible)? Or is the problem on the switch connectors on the differential - if so, how do I access these?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe you should take a look under the car???

The super select lights are controlled by their own 'ECU' located under the carpet just in front of the driver's seat - it gets it's inputs from six switches, five on the transfer case and one on the front differential - all clearly visible if you get under the vehicle.

Presumably - what you are reporting is based on the Super Select display - if reversing gets rid of the center diff lock light, the probability is that your electrical connecions and switches are all fine - and you just need to be a little more patient - you should not be using the "Lc" positions on a "hard surface" (which I have a feeling you are) - if you have an owner's manual, I suggest you read it, i fyou don't, search online  you'll find one - I'm pretty certain it documents these issues.
