Fitment of universal lambda/o2 sensor - write up and results
I was getting barely 22mpg out of my Pinin and it reeked of petrol on startup.
I recently replaced the front down pipe and the o2 sensor had definately seen better days.
I had not seen the Eco GDI light since the car was stood for about nine months.
So I looked at the mitsubishi prices and other pattern prices online. Had a little cry and then ordered one of these:

Worth a punt for less than £20.
Quick breakdown of work:
I got the car up the ramps today and got the old one off. Cut the cables to the same overall length and soldered on the old connection.
Black to Blue.
White to Grey.
2xBlack to White.
Installed the new sensor after heatshrinking all the solder points.
Start engine and let it warm up until the thermostat opened. Turn off car and remove key.
Disconnect battery and let residual current discharge. I touched the two terminals together to ensure this. Reconnect battery.
Do NOT touch anything while the self learn is taking place such as the throttle/brake/electric windows etc.
AC off, fans off, start engine. Leave to run for ten minutes. (Engine will sound strange as it self learns)
Stop engine, AC on cold, full fans, door open. Restart engine and leave to run for ten minutes.
Stop engine, repeat AC on cold, full fans, door open. Restart engine and leave to run for ten minutes.
Stop engine and remove key.
Results
Eco light is now back on, MPG went straight up to 29 after a drive around. No grabby throttle and the reek of petrol is gone.
So well worth changing if you think yours has seen better days.
