Hi everyone,

So I bought a new Pinin a while ago and have had nothing but trouble free commuting to and from work everyday. There is a very long descent on the way to and from work that is steep - about 1000m vertical over 6 km. So on the descent I put it in 4h to give me a bit more engine breaking and control. I change from 2h on the fly whilst free wheeling below 100kph. Just like you should.

All was going fine until yesterday when I changed into 4h and the dreaded diff lock light started flashing. But not how it normally flashes when things are going wrong. It is a very fast flash and speeds up when you accelerate. This happens in both 2 and 4h but the diff lock still works when in 4hlc and 4llc because the light stays continuous. Additionally if you go into 4llc then back through to 2h the light won't flash in 2 or 4 h until your accelerate and then flashing is the violent type not the normal slow flash.

I've tested the 4wd system out on gravel and it all seems to be working as it should so I am not of the opinion that it is a mechanical problem. So it is electrical. And because the light flashes harder when you accelerate harder I am thinking it is something to do with the earthing of the switches.

My question is, does anyone have any information about the earthing of the transfer case, ecu and the switches? I'm struggling to find any info abut it. Maybe it is a general earthing problem in hte car - any info about the earthing and where it is?

Many thanks for your help.

Alex.
