GDI lamp lights when trying to sudden speedups

Please help me.

 

I am a newby to your forum and from Sri Lanka.

 

I am with my Pajero IO for three years was a perfect one with some minot troubles. I replaced the throttle body 15 months back ( 50000 Km used). But, it was not a new one but a used one. In Sri Lanka they are sky high priced !.

 

Today, when I tried to accelerate suddnely, the GDI light on for seconds , engine knoked, when pedddle released all were fine.

 

No such symptoms when accelerating smoothly

 

Somebody please give me an advice on this.

Which light came on?

The GDI light (green) or the check engine light (yellow)? 

It's normal for the GDI light to be on with the engine at idle and when being driven gently/smoothly at part throttle (up to about half open) and go out as the throttle is opened further, which seems to be the opposite of what you're describing.

If the check engine light is what came on, you need to get the code read.

Thanks for the comment. I hope I made a mistake here. It was the yellow light( Amber color). The engine light. It get off when I released the acceleration. Even today, I tried to accelerate suddenly, the engine knoked , light on

Have you read the code yet?

When the check engine light comes on the ECU should store the fault code that caused the light to come on, have you read it yet?
