Help, looking for tranny filter and gasket for a V4AW4
Hi, new IO owner. Just trying to change my ATF fluid on a JSpec 2000 IO but the Japanese Yellow Hat store wanted to charge me $120 just for a filter and gasket. Is that the only option or do you guys have a better parts store or website. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

You have to provide a certain level of information before we can even start to make sense of your post.
That filter & gasket kit that you're griping about at $120, would cost me over $10,000 - that's right - ten THOUSAND dollars - sounds crazy right? That's because you have no idea of where I am, or the value of our currency. Now if I were to hop on a plane and fly fifty-five minutes over to where my daughter is, I'd be paying around $300 for the same kit - she's in a different country, and their dollar has a different value than ours.
Back to your issue - the transmission is an AW4, it is also used by Isuzu, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Suzuki & Toyota, just to name a few, so depending on where you're located, you may be able to pickup a transmission filter & gasket kit for it at the nearest auto parts chain (I can't) - the filter is a mesh screen, and rarely requires replacement, you should be able to just wash it out & refit it, and a gasket can be made from gasket paper, assuming that you know what you're about.
