How to attach Images to a post
This is something that a lot of people consider common knowledge, everyone knows how to upload or attach an image right? The reality is a LOT of people are still not sure how to . So with any luck this will fix that problem for any members of this site.
I would prefer images to be hosted on this site to stop pictures disappearing from the site when files are removed from other servers. Theres nothing worse than reading through an old thread that was once full of pictures of someones Car or 4x4 trip, but now has most or all of the pictures missing due to dead links!
Step 1. Click on the Image button.
Step 2, A window will pop up, then click on the "Browse Server" button
(you could also past the web address (URL) of an image hosted somewhere else into the "URL" line then click OK, Job finished.)
But as I said above, I would prefer to host the pictures on this site if possible.
Step 3, Another window will open, then clock on the "Upload" button.
Step 4, Click on the "Browse" Button (circled in RED) then brows your computer for the photo you want to upload and select it. Then click on the "Upload" button, (Circled in Blue) This will upload the file to your online storage folder.
Step 5, Find the file in your online folder you want to display. (It will already be selected if you just uploaded it) Then either double click on it, OR click on the Image Preview.
Image Preview
Step 6 - Final step, Click "OK" and your done!
BUT Make sure that images do not exceed 670px in width! I could have the server auto resize all uploads, But im a big fan of Hi res images, so if anyone decides to download your pics, they can view them in greater close up detail. But in order to fit nicely into the boarders of this Forum we need to manipulate them back to no more than 670px wide, to do this, just change the numbers shown here IF needed before clocking on "OK"
There are many options you can play wtih, For example, you can link a smaller sized image to open up a new window with the FULL SIZE larger version of the image. If you have any questions about this or any thing else. Post it up and im sure someone will sort you out .
Alternatively, IF this is all just to hard for you, you can use the "Upload A File" option when making a post.
Just click on "Browse" select the file you want (any file, not just images) then click "Upload". Job done, the files will be attached when you save the post.
Struggling with upload of foto's
Hi
Is anybody struggling with uploads of foto's.
It is not working. I have followed the instructions again as I did in the past but does not want to upload.
I go through the whole thing until i get to the very last click to upload the selected foto; then nothing. You can click a 100 times nothing happens.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Ettienne
awning
Considere the size of the car...small ! I found it "as new" second hand, it is 1.4 m wide by 2 long. While it is ...small :) it is still good to have and it does have a LED light that work very well. I paid $70 ...bargain really....
I also made some wall to cut the wind or for privacy if needed. There is a picture with it roll out in my built thread post 171.
By the way picture taken at Fraser Island

Nice
I've wanted an awning for awhile - explored the idea of making my own, but given the constraints where I live, it would actually cost as much as an ARB and not look or work half as well. A US vendor named Smittybilt released 2 & 2.5 metre sizes late last year, but they seem to have a very limited supply of the 2 metre one, and the 2.5 is too long.
So far I have had one order cancelled due to unavailability and a second order from a different source also looks like that is going to fall through - delivery promised was August 22 and it has not yet shipped.
Uploading
I am struggling to upload phtographs to illustrate a point made in a post.
I can get the photos into the online folder Uxxx but can't get beyond that point. when the process gets to Step 6 " Image Properties" in the illustration the preview still shows the Latin text from Step 2. When I click on "Insert File" nothing happens. I am using Internet Explorer not Firefox as per the example. Does that make a difference?
I also have some photos in the Uxxx folder that I want to delete but can't. The display box for IE is not showing the Delete X that the Firefox window shows
Help please
pics
I have never seen the delete option either !
Once you have uploaded your picture and arrive to step 6 (and seeing the Latin text) you should be able to click on "browse server" not "insert file". This will take you to your list of pictures that you have loaded on the forum file. Once on the forum file, instead of clicking on "insert file" then, click twice on the picture that you want to insert. First click will show you the picture that you selected, the second click will insert it. Make sure that your marker is in the good position to where you want to place the picture, usually at the far left side.
I hope this help
