Hey everyone,

I’m new to the forum as I just purchased a 2001 Mitsubishi Pajero iO.
I’m looking to deck out the car for off-roading but I have some queries.

1. I want to put a platform rack system on the roof but I’m struggling to find the best method to do this.
2. I also want some bigger tyres and wheels, so I was wondering the max size I could go (along with some recommendations on brands)
3. And finally I was looking for either a bullbar or nudge bar, and curious on what I should I get.

Thanks,
Jackson

As far as I know ...

I don't recall ever seeing a Pajero iO without roof rails, if yours has, then step one is to add cross bars and step two is to add the rack of your choice.

Bigger wheels & tires will depend on where you are, some countries have legislation that dictates how much over the OE size, and the OE size also varied from one country to the next.  I sold my iO a few years back, but I think I was running 215/70R16 which was OE for my vehicle, but larger than I think Australia which for some reason got 215/65R16.

Tire size is also going to be limited by the front strut that is fitted - there were struts with two different height spring pans and the one with the lower pan has the  spring very close to the tire limiting how large a tire can fit - search the forum for a thread called "Strut Data" - it shows you how to measure the strut to see which one you have.
