I have the newer high pan strut but I’m looking to jam the old model longer coils into them. I’ve tried combing through the forums and haven’t found it. I’d like to price out those in comparison with some lifting springs. Thanks

My question is where do you expect to find these springs.

There are several different part numbers ...

MR316706 (Left) & MR316709 (Right) are what fit my car.

The internet is a wonderful place. Now that I have the part number I can actually try to find coils. If I can’t I’ll look into lift coils and if no luck there either I’ll end up buying spacers.

Where are you located?

The chances of your locating new OEM front coils anywhere other than in Japan is slim to nil - I know, because I tried, and that's where I got mine.  Depending on where you are I might be able to point you towards after market equivalents, and I do happen to have a near new pair of front coils (less than 20,000 kms of mostly paved road use).

Generally speaking it's going to be a lot easier to source lift springs and know that you're getting what you need/want, as long as you're prepared to pay the price, and in some cases the shipping.

Personally - I would avoid spacer lifts - but that's just me.

I’m trying to go the cheapest

I’m trying to go the cheapest route with out using spacers but I’m in North America and coils will definitely be an expensive trip. I know I have to order the Mazda 323 springs for the rear. I’ve accepted there’s not to much for options over here. I was just hoping oem springs would cost less than lift one because of the brand but I don’t think I’m going to lift it with out dropping some cash.

Yeah the coil spacers are my least favourite idea. I hope to stay away from them unless it’s a 20mm to level the front

Canada, eh?

As I mentioned before, you're unlikely to get OEM springs anywhere other than Japan, and by the time you've paid the shipping, you'll find you haven't saved anything.

You can get KYB replacements from Ebay UK, if they'll ship to you, you can order King springs from Ebay Australia - or - you could go with Dobinsons.

Dobinsons USA are based in Miami and whilst they don't stock the Pajero iO they can get them, and if you ask nicely, and are prepared to wait for the next shipment, they might be willing to work with you to keep the shipping costs down.

By the way - forget about cheap - it doesn't work - quality costs money  - the cheap route will cost you more because you're going to be buying again and again and again...

Canada is right

Well as you can imagine finding sellers that will actually ship to me has now became the new road block.

I am able to get the Mazda springs for $200. There is a potential of getting king springs just have to do a little more digging on that.
I am waiting to hear back from dobinsons.

I should have used the word inexpensive not cheap.

Thanks for all the info you’ve helped substantially.

Did you contact Dobinsons - or -

Did you contact Dobinsons in Australia or Dobinsons USA.

I see no reason why Dobinsons USA should have any reason not to  ship to Canada

In usa

I did contact them I’m just waiting for them to get back to me via email. Not sure why but with covid every one seems to take an extra day or two with replying to emails.

People are working with restrictions...

We still have a 6:00~18:00 hrs curfew, from which only essential service personnel, front line workers & first responders are exempt - it was lifted it to 20:00 hrs and then put back to 18:00 when the infection rate spiked - this means that john public has less hours available to do what needs to be done - I've learned to go grocery shopping as early as possible - or stand in a line outside the supermarket wasting time because they restrict how many customers can be in the store at any given time.  The simplest of tasks now takes waaaay longer.

At the start of the pandemic I was working 8:00~14:00 hrs, one day a week, then two days a week, now five days a week - I thank God I still have a job, even if it's with reduced hours and reduced pay - I'm not out there in a food bank line praying for a helping hand.  I've saved a ton of money by not eating out, but that means a ton of people don't have a job or didn't get paid because nobody ate out - restaurants are now being allowed to re-open, for take out, and 50% capacity dining in, so last week end we had take out from my favourite dine-in restaurant, for the first time since March, normally I would have been in there, at the very least, once a month.

Everybody's struggling man, some may not show it, but they are - my mother is in her 90's and lives alone, I drive by every morning on my way to work, she waves to me from her window, she's high risk because of her age, I'm high risk because of underlying conditions.  I can't afford to risk infection, can't afford to risk infecting her.  From the beginning of lock down (March) to now she's been out of the house twice - she gets everything she needs (material needs) - but it's like she's in a jail.

Stay safe man, and be patient.

Will do man you too. It’s a weird time out there that’s for sure. Things are getting back to normal as much as they can right now. With kids going back to school there’s gunna be a second wave and I’m sure every thing will get locked down again.
