How much side to side play does the transfer case shift lever on your iO have in the 2H position - can you move it side-side or just forwards to the 4H position?

Thanks Bob

I spoke with a friend today - he doesn't have an iO, but he has a friend who has one, and he drives it frequently - he told me the same thing you did, and he's supposed to bring it by sometime tomorrow so I can see how that one shifts.

Right now I have my center console out, and all the rubber boots off the transfer case shifter - and a chunk of polyurethane that I'm planning to make a bushing out of - once I figure out where it's supposed to go, and what it's supposed to look like

My iO "to fix" list is now one item shorter.

My transfer case shift lever is now sorted - I found a suitably sized polyurethane shock eye bushing and spent some time with a rotary tool sanding & shaping - until I got it to where I wanted it - the challenge was that I had never seen the original, and had to guess at what the bush should look like.  The lever now has about 1/4" side-side play at the knob (it had about 2" before) and I can shift between 2H, 4H, 4HLc & 4LLc like I should.  I still have a flashing lock light to sort out, but that seems to be a broken wire in the harness - downed tools at sunset, hopefully we'll have good weather tomorrow so I can finish it up.
