Water Under the Thermostat Case

Please assit with best way of fixing water leak under my thermostat case. Am reluctant to have the mechanic remove before I am sure it wont cause other problems.

There isn't a lot we can do from this distance...


other than suggest you find a mechanic you can trust.

Since we can't see the leak, we don't know where it's coming from, we can't tell you how to fix it - possibilities range from a leaking O ring gasket to a corroded thermostat case or water pump inlet pipe.

You can try using a mirror to see underneath, but, you may have to do some disassembly to find the leak, and yes, the possibility exists that the vehicle may be unusable for some time whilst you locate parts.  If your mechanic is good he may be able to do a temporary repair using epoxy so that the car can be used whilst you source the parts.

Thanks. It was actually a corroded hose feeding into the thermostat casing. I cannot the part where I am in Africa. Had it repaired. Also serviced the radiator.
