KYB Strut Pan Move

Guys, I thought of something stupid the other day and need some insight. If you look at the picture you will notice that the pan is facing you if you sit behind the tyre. What effect will it have if you lossen the pan and swing it 90 deg left of right? Reason for this is to use your std strut, swing it 90 deg and then your tyres would clear without having to add spacers of go to a coil over shock? Will this work, whats the implication ect???
