lift

You will have to give us some pictures.

Check your CV angle, with 6.5 cm you might need to decrease their angle a bit.

english

Your english is very good !. The CV is the shaft between the diff and the the middle of the front disc brake (big nut to hold it). Lifting the car does lift the diff but not the center of your wheel, this does give pressure to the articulation of this shaft.

Picture of the CV in my built thread post 147

I hope this help.

No I took the spacer out

No I took the spacer out because i popped the inner cv out on drivers side, it was too much for it. I will do a diff drop when changing the low ratio gear in the transfer case when I take the car off the road next week and then put the spacer back in after that.

Did you make a little round spacer for the top of the strut at all ?? you will need to because of excess movement where the spring holder sits on the top.

round spacer

I think that the "round spacer" is actually the pictures in his reply.....I think that it is to remove any free play in the center of the top support bearing as the shaft from the X-trail is smaller than the original io strut shaft....

Compare the top of the strut shafts...

The top of the XTrail strut shaft (where the threads are) is different to that of the Pajero iO - it's smaller, the spacer fills the gap.

Not silly !

Not silly at all, we understand you....

It can be done, I have done it. It is not the easiest way.....It is hard to realign the shaft back in the bearing to put the nut back in.

ok, i was reading all
ok, i was reading all about xtrail rear struts.

could be a good combination with the springs ironman?

And.... front x-trail strut. why no? can be another possible option.

Someone said that maybe rear have more lenght in extension, but who know the dimensions about front strut xtrail? and the top anchor pattern?

This is in KYB Europe.

This is the strut mount.

By memory the front X-trail

By memory the front X-trail strut wasn't as long as the rear and only offered the same amount of droop as the iO that's why I went with the rear and put the iO spring and top mount on it. Fair enough there is a little fidling around with spacers and things but when it is done it is a better combination than the high pan iO strut and like i have said in other pages you gain 50mm more droop and I have had them in for over 12mths and no problems except for when I put a 25mm spacer on top to raise it more and it popped the inner drivers side cv out so I took the spacer off the top.

Pedders xtrail rear struts

I had been using the standard xtrail rear struts fine for quite a while untill I went on a local scuffle and managed to twist my nearside one. I've since upgraded to pedders expedition xtrail struts on the front, a heavy duty vitara winch bumper that I've modified to fit and a big winch so it's alot heavier on the front now. I'd like to know if anyone has fitted the xtrail rear springs? Do the fit the pans and do they give any lift? Are they stiffer?

Cheers
