Is the noise coming from the passenger side of the car? If so, try going for a drive without your girlfriend / wife in the car and see if that helps. They are often the cause of a lot of whining. :-)

noisy io

Hello,

As long has it make some noise, it is good, it's still going!

The problem is that noise can be difficult to explain, to locate, so on a blog it is close to impossible to help. But, I will try (I have been sucking at every one for advices, my turn!) was the noise here before you replace the brake pads? If yes it might not be them; if no they could be the pb. Lots of people just remove the old one and put the new one in. You need to clean the guides were the pads move on and put a touch of gease for the pads to slide easily (not that they move much, but they do) If the top move well but not the bottom you get a noise!, and there is a type of special brake pads spray glue that you can apply at the back of the pad, like that the pads stick more to the caliper and they get away from the disc and don't move when you turn to touch the disc, again no noise. Check that you have all the clips back on properly (or missing!) Check that the two part of the caliper slide properly ( again, clean and touch of grease) One way to check if the noise is coming from your pad, just touch the brake pedal when you hear the noise, if the noise go away or change, you have a guilty brake pads. And clean the guide, touch of grease (don't go silly here, just a smear), bit of glue! that will be a good start and that how it should be done anyway!

But noise can come from a lot of thing, even a low quality brake pad. Last advice, take it to the suspension garage (people who do wheel aligment, or brake specialist, or even the dealer) and ask for a free quote, at the worst they will charge you for a half an hour, and your mind will be at rest.

All the best,

Claude/Claud io
