transfer case

I have an auto transfer case (from a 2 litre, same from what I know) but it is dismantled and have been modified to take the 2.85 low gear (not tested or fully finished) . Do you know what bits do you need  for it ? What is wrong with yours ?

Could be the 4x4 lever!!

My 4x4 lever was manhandled when I got it and after a year or two of use it would get stuck occasionally.. then alot... then wouldn't go low range... And I was sick of climbing under and manually putting it into 4x4 with lever out for trips!

So got a spare from claude (both manual and auto shifter lever are the same from memory??) and it was all good! My spring/seal at the bottom of the lever was mangled. The new one slid in fine and has never caused an issue since!

transfer case

What Simmo mentioned is a common problem on our T/C and chances, but not 100% sure, are that yours is the same. (faulty bush at the lever). Any potential buyer could rightfully consider a more expensive repair. A complete T/C can be anywhere from $250 (very rare !) up to $700 at the wrecker + time for fitting (about 3 hours ?)

If you have the knowledge or know someone that can do the repair could save you some $$$. To check if it is the bush you will have to remove the lever from the T/C, if the bush is faulty it will be cracked.

my old folks are telling me not to sell it because they want it to run around on the farm haha the only reason i was considering selling it was they are very hard to find parts for

bush

we had a member on here who rallyed his io - a 1.8 with a turbo kit from a lancer.

he said the driveline was bombproof and so far he was right.

as above you've likely just got a crap leaver - it's about $80 for a new entire lever from amayama.com from memory OR clean out your old one

I think that $80 seems too cheap...I would say closer to $200
