the biggest tyre size
255/70
I will even say that you cannot fit the 255/70 with the high pan strut and the original wheel. The 225/75/ will fit. To fit the 255/70 you will need a different offset wheel.
Hum....not sure but I have the feeling that these are not the original wheel, and that this strut is the low pan one. You have made similar question here http://pajerio.com/forum/lift-0#comment-19827 and I will finish my reply there !!!

All good ! I am a bit busy, going fishing soon,
I haven't work with wheel backspace for a while but more with wheel offset.....
If you have the low pan strut fitting the high pan will give you around 20 mm more clearance that you you have now. Knowing this, you should be able to visually see if your bigger tyre will fit.
Again, if you buy those high pan strut, keeping your spring and fitting the mazda spring at the rear should work. If it is a bit low at the front you could easily fit spacer at the top of the strut later on, in mean time your car should be fine.
I am now off line for 10 days.......

It depends ...
With stock front struts the tire size is limited by the position of the lower spring chair or pan - there are two different front struts, it depends on which one you have - find the "Strut Data" thread in this (the Suspension) section of the forum for pictures showing where to measure your struts, and details on which is which.
"Low pan" struts, I'd say 215/70R16, "high pan" struts, probably 225/70R16.
