Hi Guys,

If anyone has had any luck with costom Bullbars for the IO can you let us know how you went with this??

Looking for something similair in design to this: Live in Brisbane and have only been quoted outrageous amounts to have custom fitted anywhere from $1800 - $3000!!!

I would be looking to spend $800-$1500, and have a mate whos keen to help us make one from scratch but would like to stay ADR complient if possible!

Rock Sliders

Also has anyone have any solid foundationg on mounting rock sliders???

The below pictures features side steps from a custom shop and this 3dr was done and I thought it looked great!! BUT when I rang up to ask about it they said that these side steps were welded on and they wouldn't work well as Rock sliders as they would bend easily :(

The whole idea I explained I was after was sliders that were demountable, strong enough to withstand most hits and if they do bend can be taken off and straightened out and put back on!! But the person told me they have never had to mount rock sliders to an IO and was unable to help in the sliders department.

Probably saving for the bullbar first but if anyone knows a friend or a good custom shop that would be able to quote reasonably priced bull bar or rock sliders please let us know!

Cheers
Simmo

Adr

Man, you have an air bag model like mine, only certified adr compliant bars will be er compliant.
Io's without airbags can bolt on pretty much anything.

Ecb make a nice pipe bar, otherwise there isn't much else around that doesn't look crap.

Yeah as far as I am reading it sucks :( We are not allowed to take the air bags out hey? From what I have been reading (http://www.hpw.qld.gov.au/SiteCollectionDocuments/QFleetVehicleAccessoriesUserProtection.pdf) we are not allowed to take out the air bags and can only fit specially approved bars angry which is a roundabout way of saying "SPEND EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON A CUSTOM COMPLIENT BAR"

Let us know when you go to do sliders Bob!! Always happy to help bulk buy matierals for such endevours! :) Will be nice to have at least rock sliders on!

Try APT fabrication at

Try APT fabrication at Tingalpa - they have specialised in Landrovers now but do all custom fab work.

http://www.aptfabrications.com.au/about-apt-fabrications

They made the sliders on my SWB paj and have done a fair bit of custom work on mates trucks.

They have a powdercoater onsite too.
