Im getting rid of my Dobinson 35mm raised coils, front and back. Only 6 months old. Reason is i think there are better ways to raise the suspension in the iO rather than eating up all the shock travel. They are for a lwb iO and lift it up 50mm from stock, $200 ono. I payed $330 for them. Let me know if your interested, not sure how much postage is tho.

How firm are the rear

How firm are the rear springs? If you dont already know, do you have measurements so I can calculate the spring rate.

Yes 225/70's but this will

Yes 225/70's but this will fit with stock suspension also. Any bigger you will have to modify the struts. The springs give it a fair bit of lift, although they are quite firm compared to stock.

Okay, how did they go off

Okay, how did they go off road, were they too firm? An if i also had the kyb struts would that make it less firm?

They seemed to be okay

They seemed to be okay offroad, they are pretty firm tho, handling is better, they would be good with a bullbar with more weight over them i reckon. I have the replacement kyb's already but they are identical to stock so i dont understand what you mean? It just restricts shock travel thats all. I am going for the diff drop strut spacer lift instead, will be much the same lift though.

What would be the ride height

What would be the ride height of the truck once lifted? Kinda imagining how the vehiclie would look with lifted suspension.

The dobinsons are the same

The dobinsons are the same for either LWB or SWB aren't they? If they'll fit the SWB then I'm keen. How much will it be to send them to sydney?

If the KYB's are the same as stock then I should be right leaving the stock shocks all round, right?

Have you tried 225/75R16 with standard struts? I've been looking into it and I think those are the size I'd like to get next.

Size is not important; it's how you use it that matters!

The swb are slightly

The swb are slightly different, i personally wouldnt put the lwb ones in the swb, it would fit but would be way too firm, as long as your shocks are working well you wont need to replace them if you get a lift. 225/70's fit fine, the only way to know if 225/75's fit is if you got one fitted, im thinking you may need a 10mm wheel spacer or something as 225/70's are quite close to the strut already.

Yeah I emailed suspension

Yeah I emailed suspension stuff and was told the same thing. Thats a shame.

I just noticed that Ironman do coils for iO's, same price as Dobinsons. They are listed under Challenger on the ironman website! From what I can gather though, it seems that they are the same for SWB/LWB. I think I might look into getting these instead and see how they go.

Yeah they say 30-35mm. When

Yeah they say 30-35mm. When you read the rest of the site about their coil springs it says that all of their replacement springs offer 30mm-40mm lift over factory.

Ironman dont stock this item

Ironman dont stock this item anymore guys i called them a while back and they havnt for some time, honestly you wont want to raise your springs any more than 30mm from stock, any more and there is no shock travel, thryre almost max'd out with the dobinsons. Without longer shocks which will require a diff drop the ride is pretty uncomfortable, I have to say the front suspention of the iO is pretty crap. Whos first up for a Solid axle Swap??

I emailed them the other day

I emailed them the other day and they got straight back to me with local stockists... Didn't say anything about them being discontinued. I'll look into this.

They offer the same lift as the Dobbo's, but as the guy pointed out to me in the email, this is the maximum lift the io can take without major mod's.

I was thinking about getting them over the dobinsons to try something different and then report back with how they go. I'll talk to Ironman at the 4x4 show tomorrow.

spring

Hello,

I am looking to raise my 2002 SWB, will they fit. I only want the rear one, then replace the shock. What option are you going to use? I had mine for 3 years and I am very happy but would like to improve the little beast by raising it, and try to find a winch and add a little more power.

Any advices welcome (this site already helped!)

Thanks
