choking

Yes,

it was poor spark - spark plugs were shot.

heavy load, rich mix, low spark - mis firing/loss of power.

I used to also get it on heavy LH turns where the G forces would upset the fuel load into the engine causing it to run rich momentarily.

chocking

Have you replaced the fuel filter maybe ?? blocked exhaust ?? faulty fuel pump ??

Whoa...I didn't know that  this was possible:    " I used to also get it on heavy LH turns where the G forces would upset the fuel load into the engine causing it to run rich momentarily."

On carbed engines it is ...

But on EFI, the only times I've heard of it happening has been on carbed vehicles retrofitted with EFI - it seems there is a difference in the tank baffles (that stop/reduce fuel slosh.
