Hello everyone!

My name's Luminaire and i'm from the Philippines. I just got my very first car about 2 months ago. I got a 2.0L 5dr GDI Pajero IO with 53K reading and so far, I have been loving it. Since this is my first car, I don't really know much about fuel economy, whether my car is using up too much gas or not.

I would like to thank everyone for contributing to this forum, I hope someday I will be able to contribute as well.

Here are some pics.

Cheers!

I included this picture because I am unsure about my io's engine..it says in the papers that I have a 1.8L IO. Also, I am unsure about

the Year my IO was manufactured. There are a few IO's in my location and the one I have is quite different from the others.

Some of the differences are, different hood (front view) and different mags as well. Mine didn't come with spare tire cover and no roof railings.

4G94

Welcome to the forum,

Very nice car and low km...your last picture say that you have the 4G94 engine....I would think that it is the 2 litre. (my car have the 4G94 too) Not sure if it is the GDI as you mentioned.

Happy io

Thanks!

Hey claude!
Thanks for your reply yesterday. I have already ordered my k&n filter and will be fitting it as soon as it arrives.

I'm sure that I have a GDI model as it has a GDI emblem on the front grill.

Any suggestions for tires? I mostly drive on cement/tar paved roads..wet and dry given the climate here in the Phil. I sometimes go through rough roads but not that often. Tire sizes?brands?

Best regards.

Tyres

Tyres...it is a little bit like ice cream, lots of choice and price :) I had the BFG 215/70/65 A/T, I was very happy with them. They are a bit more expensive but last a long time and work out cheaper in the long run, They are very good on dirt road and good on road even wet. From what you said, I wouldn't go for the mud tyres as you are mostly on the road.

I have test drive a car with Michelin Latitude Cross and their were very impressive too, I think Bob had them on his car too.

As you are in the Phillipines, tyre market and brand are probably different, check what other car have, check your local tyres shop, then check your choice on internet.

Happy io

Hi Fordem, may I ask where

Hi Fordem, may I ask where you got those information? I tried googling the chassis number and didn't get any results. Do you, by any chance know what those characters mean? (LRXC ZR, 4F)

@Everyone - Does anybody know whether my wheels are OEM or aftermarket?

Cheers

Thanks Claude. That's good to

Thanks Claude. That's good to know. Common brands around my area are Good Year, Michelin, Yokohama, Bridgestone, etc. I haven't seen BFG here. Based on some googling, I have read that Michelin tires are pretty good, they last long and have good performance.

www.epc-data.com

If you enter the chassis (frame) number into the websites at www.epc-data.com or www.epcdata.ru you can get back the build details for the vehicle - this does not work for Australian market vehicles which seem to have their own coding.  The websites are actually part catalog sites, and by entering the chassis number they will filter out the parts that don't fit a particular vehicle.

I don't have all of the codes, I figured some of them out poking around the site - the ZR appears to be a trim level, I believe the LR indicates a long wheel base or 5 door, and the 4FA/T is a four forward speed automatic transmission, if it's a manual transmission vehicle that code becomes 5FM/T for a five foward speed manual transmission.

Not all Michelin are the same, the one I mentionned are good, mostly on road and considering the tread patern...nice on the dirt road and light 4x4. I have seen them in action on a old mazda tribute and I was very surprised.
