Has anyone had any experience with Mickey Thompson tires? Either on the iO or otherwise?

I've been looking at the STZ http://www.mickeythompsontires.com.au/index.php?page=STZ  in size 225/75-16.

They seem to be getting pretty good reviews, and I do like the tread pattern. I'm only looking at AT for now, as anything will be better than the tiny road tires I've got on at the moment.

Any other suggestions would be appreiciated :) I know the BFGs have been pretty popular on here.

Thanks, Ben

Looks the goods

Micky T's have been around for awhile and I know a few people with Navara's and patrols running them and there pretty happy, for that price you should also be comparing Maxxis ATs.

Having mud tyres on my car I wish I had gone AT's and I pretty much go 4wding every weekend. The road really takes its toll on mud tyres :c

Happy iO

01 ZR LWB, 2 sets of kumho KL71s on rims, custom one off belly plate, lukey sports exhaust and a right foot to suit!

Mickey thompson

I ran mtx tyres on my lada niva, 140hp at the wheels airborne tyre shredder, they were the bomb. I did need a fair bit of throttle and drift on the tar as they were mud tyres but took whatever I dished out.

Tyre size

What is the widest tyre thatll fit on the standard wheel. The cars ac2000 model , wheels 5 spoke with the round cut outs. The Alfa looking ones. Theyre a 16x6? Cant remember offhand. Will a 225/70 fir? Even the 215/70/16 leave little gap tween the tyre and the strut. A 225 would be more agreeable me thinks.....

Just illegal

225/75-16 are the biggest i'd run, they are just illegal here in qld (we have a 25mm rule here) as the stock 215/65-16 are tiny

235/70-16 are wider and slightly lower, but I feel too wide for 6" rims.
