Parts + more parts
As some of you may have read a while ago now, I was rear ended leading to the write-off of my iO.
I have finally got my money to settle the losses of this accident, so I am now going about selling off parts from the car.
Pretty much anything is for sale, at reasonable prices, I'm not interested in making any money on this. I was offered $526 from a wrecker for the vehicle, so If i get this from parts, and help a few people along the way, I will be happy.
If you are in Adelaide, or are willing to travel here, I am happy for you to come and remove what you want yourself and give me some cash, or if you live elsewhere, we can sort something out. Small things (that can go via auspost) I am happy to organise frieght, but anything bigger, I ask that you organise your own frieght (I will happily package and deliver to a depot nearby though). Also, big ticket items, like fuel tanks and wheels, I'll be happy to sell, but you'll have to make it worth my while as I will be wanting to get rid of the car when this happens (either to you or to a wrecker) as it will be too hard to move the car around afterwards otherwise.
I am happy for someone to buy the whole thing if they want. $500 and its yours if you come and get it. (I've already agreed to sell the plastic roof mouldings to Claude, although yet to send them off beacuase I've been a bit slack). Note: vehicle is driveableand mechanically sound. It is no longer registered but I had no troubles obtaining a SA unregistered vehicle permit to move it to its current location; you might have troubles with this in other states though as I believe that you have to get an inspection done to even get one of these short term permits.
Photos to come soon showing damage, so you can work out what you might want. Mostly though, damage is to rear end (including jamming rear door closed) and front right hand corner, although both tail light fittings still undamaged. All side doors are undamaged, although RHS ones will be interesting to remove as they are jammed shut (bent pillars).
Towbar etc
I'll have a look for you in the next few days Glen. No promises though, it might be damaged,or might not be. It took some impact and now it is at a funny angle, or whether it is just because the floor and chassis area bit bent. As I said, I'll have a check.
Also, take note that there are near new (8000km old) geolandar at-s tyres (4 of, stock size) with 5 original rims. Tyres cost me $980 about 3 or 4 months before crash.
Vehicle still drives well, just a bit noisy because of some of the gaps around.
Bottom right corner of rear bumper and mudflap has been removed as they were dragging on the wheel.

LOL, oh yeah its a bargain!
LOL, oh yeah its a bargain! id be willing to put up with noisy air gaps for a drive home!
You think Clauds idea is doable? whats involved in a temp reg in SA? Id also have to get one in VIC as the SA ones are not valid here.
Better yet ill just borrow a trailer, drive over and tow it back, with the towbar from the iO hahaha, JK, ill have to borrow my brothers ute,
Claude's idea
I think Claude's idea is very doable. Temp rego is very easy to get here, when I needed to move it before, I just walked in to service sa (motor reg place) with the completed form and walked out with the permit, $56 poorer.
I was under the impression that you would be able to drive in Victoria using the sa permit (provided that is hadn't expired) http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/PermitsModificationsAnd...
See the bottom of that page, suggests that one an drive in Victoria using an interstate permit. I believe that only WA permits are not valid in the eastern states. If you are happy to do the research at your end, I'm happy to do it here. Your call. It would mean flying or bussing here though. Might be easier to drive here then tow back. This having been said, make sure you get a heavy duty car trailer, most that I have seen have a limit of 1200kg, the io is about 1400.

Re wow
The floor is crumpled at the back "a little", the towbar points out at a funny angle currently, but not because it is damaged, just because everything else nearby is. Main point of impact was on the spare tyre (not wheel) which popped in the accident. It was rubbish and had not much tread anyway - I only bought 4 new tyres as I couldn't afford 5.
I'm happy for it to sit around for a while longer, just be aware that it isn't under cover and it isn't completely sealed so it may get a bit of rain inside (nothing to major though, I'll try to put some tape over the gaps to keep rain out). If you want to follow through with this, I'm happy for you to. I've already had someone suggest that they might want the left mirror, so if you buy the whole thing, you might make some back almost straight away.
Seat
I assumed that your base is sagging on the side, a lot of io do that but not the only possible problem. If it is, you can swap the base from the passenger side, 4 bolts under the seat. Wrecker will sell you the complete seat but the passenger will be cheaper as not many people know that the based can be swapped around. That is what i have done on mine.
Happy io
Note: roof racks and basket
Note: roof racks and basket are no longer fitted to this vehicle.
