Photography thread
Hi Guys.
I was thinking of starting a thread a while back specifically for interesting photography and pics of our rides getting out there, instead of posting them in our members rides threads we could just put them in this one so everyone can see them all in the one thread. (action shots and photography only, build pics still go in your own thread)
it could be anything you like. so long as its in the boundaries and rules of the forum.
anyways ill start it off with a few shots i took for a project im doing at uni.
Camping @ Teewah
26th - 28th Sep 2011.
Beautiful weather.
Good times with the family.
The Clampet's, loaded & ready to go.
The destination.
All set up.
Dinner #1.
My led lighting.
Day two. Rainbow Bay, looking north to DI. picture perfect.
The Coloured sands.
My lovely wife.
The Coloured sands.
Red Canyon.
Chillaxing. (in kid speak)
Pippis aren't bait!
Dinner #2. We were fading away to shadows.
Brooding sunrise, 5 am day three.
All to soon it's time to go home. That's all folks. Till next time.
Let's do it.
We'll have to plan a trip, 6 months or so out, open to all.
Somewhere that ticks all the boxes.
- Close to the majority that will turn up.
- Easy to moderate offroading to suit anyone.
- Within an hr or so from services.
- Something of interest. A view, a creek, or attraction of some sort.
- Overnight or day trip?
Maybe Tambourine as Bob_oz suggested. Any of the state forests. There are also 4x4 parks like 'The Springs' etc.
Any ideas?
Anything I have missed?
What are peoples thoughts.

I am 100% down for this!
Somewhere that we can potentially book a large area so that people can come and go over the weekend/etc. I'd be keen for a beech trip as many people havn't experienced that and the sand is fun.
Given that we have people in Rockhampton, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Northern NSW, Sydney and Victoria, maybe look at somewhere mid north coast NSW, Byron or Coffs way, Or inland. Any one stayed up around Dorigo way?
It will be Autum, perhaps a trip inland with a big camp fire? Would it be too cold for a beach trip?
.
Thanks Daniel.
What's stopping you?
Standard IO is cool as, ZR with limo diff, say no more & ht tires are the best on sand.
All up for vehicle & camping permits it's maybe $75 for 4 people in 2 structures, for 2 nights.
I'm sure people will lend you camping gear if you've got none.
So, add in firewood, food & drinks, it's pretty cheap if you plan ahead.
After one trip you'll be hooked. (and be in the market for a front bash plate.)
Plan it, do it, show us the shots.
We really need a trip
We really need a trip planning thread so we can stop hijacking the photography thread!
I'd definitely be keen for Coffs trip - Boambee beach is open for all (last time I checked), and the mountains and state forests are only a few km inland. I used to live in coffs (before I owned a 4WD), and I've done a fair bit of trail riding up there. It is heaven for off road enthusiasts of any sort. I have a friend who works for forestry up there, so he could give us a few hints on destinations and routes to take.
Here is another token photo from fraser island, seeing as its a photo thread :P
The coloured sands of The Pinnacles.
Coffs works for me!

TR4
Nice photos guys.
I love the updated TR4, shame there not over here.
MMC Brazil is a licensed factory, not a branch from MMC Japan
In some way, it's not so good, cause quality standards from original MMC Japan vehicles is higher.... sigh.. but in the other way, the Pajero TR4 was developed here and using the Japanese frame and tecnology, so it's a pretty good car... it keeps all the mechanical original set, with the superb Super Select transmission.... This year MMC Brazil showed a "cheaper" version, to face the Renault Duster market share growing around here.... the Pajero TR4 4x2 (called on offroad boards here as Pajero TR2...LOL)... IMHO it lost the strongest feature of the car...
more pics from my 2011 TR4 (AT, 4x4 of course...)
dont worry mate, even in
dont worry mate, even in stock form they are still very capable. i got everywhere i wanted o go in mine when it was stock.
my mods are going to be for reliability and camping purposes lots of sand (i hope i can find the time to getaway) and maybe a little bit of mud... we all love our iO's. they are unique, yet all of ours are so diverse.
thats what we all love about them.
Then again if and when you do start modding it you will never look back lol
iO showing up a Suzuki Vitara
I went for a play in the feild near work with a mate a couple of nights ago.
He has a Comp Suzuki he has spent $45,000 on, but my iO i have spent $2k on put him to shame, because his "front locker wasn't working" I dont even have a rear locker at this stage! (still need to install my Kaiser lockers) I got up every obstical we tried with ease, he needed a couple of attempts most times!
Hummm...
I know why...The vitara have too many stickers and may be some Kumho tyres, it slow him down, your io have the good tyres: bfg km2 :)
Happy io...
No sir, Mr Claude...
KUMHO tires are they not, as would Mastar Yoda say... In fact Kumho tires are doing just great on my TR4....I suppose there was some trouble with that tiny litlle piece that stands behind the drivewheel.....
LOL.....
Cheers!
Cheers guys!
Posting form Northern Europe, from a small country Estonia
I've got a 2001 Pajero Pinin 1.8GDI manual. Very good offroader for diriving in the forest on any season

After a bit of play
After a bit of fun,
Have anyone noticed that the registration plate gets completely "horizontal" after entering deep water. In the past I thought I had touched something but I guess that it is the water turbulence doing that. It is funny, it's like the io having so much fun, the rego plate go up....How wrong I was, always though my io was a she :)
Happy io
Great idea.
Third photo is excellent.
