Does anyone know the procedure for the upper stop for electric windows on the IO.

I took apart 2x window units and after assemble they work but lost the upper limits. When closing they go up to the top, but then 150mm down again automatically. I can manually close then bit by bit and have to stop at the top otherwise it will open again by 150mm...This is as safety feature in the system as it does not know its at the top..

Somewhere must be a procedure on how to setup the limits, I have tried some random clicks when the window is at the top, but only made the window worse. Somewhere I read the Pajero uses a 15 second upward pull when window closed to reset the window, not sure if this is same for IO?. But after this I still needs to set my upper limits..

Any advise would be helpful. I already went through the workshop manual - Section: Body. Maybe this is in the Service manual - which I do not have

On a second note: Does anyone know if a lower limit exists. This is one of the reasons why I took the one apart. My driver window sometimes get stuck at the bottom when opened all the way, I have cleaned the rails, I have checked the mechanism. It seems the angle when fully opened (bottom) is too much for the motor to pull window up again (it still have the spring attached), If I tap the motor with a screwdriver it opens again. almost asif a gear is stuck, maybe worn bearing inside motor...nevertheless a lower limit would stop this problem.

It's in the manual in the resource section of the forum.

Section 42 - BODY - pages 42-27~42-28

Did you look at the manual

There's a factory service manual in the resource section of the forum - section 42 (BODY) pages 42-27~42-28.

In a nutshell, the procedure requires you to open up the door, remove the regulator, physically set it to a certain position, re-install it, and then wind the window to the top without stopping.

Fordem, thanks for the help.

Fordem, thanks for the help. Would you mind sharing that part of the Manual. Am on low bandwidth network to download the entire 320MB of the manual.

Here you go...

Essentially what you do is disassemble the door, remove the regulator assembly, disassemble it and then reassemble so it is positioned as shown in the diagram

Next refit the regulator to the door - reconnect & then wind the window all the way to the top without stopping.

I had the same issue as OP

I had the same issue as OP and ive tried everything but the window would still hit an upper limit and then come back down. I removed the whole assembly, cleanded and greased all the tracks and reassembled exactly as the manual describes (including making a 30deg jig to make sure it was in the right angle). I also sprayed the tracks on the door with silocone spray to loosen up any stiffness, but the motor still struggles to move the window in the up position and either gets stuck at the top or comes back down half way.

Ive also tried to hold the down button for 15 seconds to 'reset' the limit (seen this advised on other forums), it does make a click sound indicating something happened, but the when resuming normal operation it just moves about 15cm at a time - disconnecting the assembly from power then resets this behaviour.

Im at a loss at what to do and assume the motor must be at its end?

I have posted above the pages from the Mitsubishi factory service manual that document the solution that worked for me and at least one other person - have you tried that?
