Please help.

I need routine service information for my IO and I don't have an owner's manual for it nor can I find a download.

1998, 4G93, 1800 DOHC

I would like to know what spark plugs, gaps, oils, filters and so on are needed.

TIA

Rick

Which plugs are you using ?

As far as I know the 98 DOHC 4G93 should have BKR6EKUC which is a "dual electrode" plug that comes pregapped - if you have IZFR6B try 0.5~0.6mm

What were your symptoms Bob?

I got my iO (1.8 GDI) with a conventional NGK plug, when I changed I used the recommended "twin plug" and have had no problems.  I was tempted to go Iridium, but didn't.

Plug symptoms

I drive 140kms/day on my commute to work. I was experiencing hesitation on throttle on slow left turns, occasional cut out at low revs, high gear, mid hrottle.
Plugs were ash white and black, wide gap (2mm)
I threw a set of twin V plugs in and were the same within 5000kms so bought iridiums on sale for $12ea. Perfect ever since (18,000kms)

hmmm

I'm not certain if the usual "plug reading" applies to GDI engines because of the "stratified charge", but my plugs have been quite 'sooty' - I might try the iridiums on the next plug change, see how she runs.

What engine do you have? GDI or MPI? Plugs woild be very differnt between.

Mine is a 4g94 MPI,

Old plugs were ngk R bkr5e-11
New iridiums are ngk bkr5eix-11

IZFR6B

IZFR6B is the iridium plug for the 1.8 GDI but for some strange reason, Mitsubishi specs a conventional nickel plug for the 98 and iridium on a 99

What happened when you tried to download it?

Did you try downloading it from the existing link?  Was there a problem with the download?

Hi,

I Guess the link is not there anymore, when clicked it opens a blank page only. NO PDF or any other text visible in the page. Just Blank.

Can you help me to get it?
