Hi all, I want to replace all the diff/axle oils but I am a little confused as to what oils I will need,
My io has recently had a full service, cambelt and auto g/box oil but I want to replace all the diff and axle oils, any help appreciated., thanks!
Gear oils
The owner's manual specs 75W90 GL4 for the transfer case (2.2l), and 90W GL5 for the axles - get 3 litres, the capacities vary depending on whether it's a 3 door or 5 door, and don't forget the front axle freewheel mechanism has it's own drain & fill plugs.
GL4 oils can be hard to find and so may be a straight 90W, if you have trouble consider a "yellow metal friendly" 75W90 GL5 for all - Mobil One or Valvoline full synthetic.
