Im on the hunt for some wheels to use with my IO once I have finished the lift.
I have thought about using spacers with the stock wheels, but i don't really like the idea of spacers.
Another forum member has mentioned el ford falcon pursuit rims. Not sure what the offset on those are?

Any other Ideas?

Pininokio has some great looking rims on his beast, What are they from?
and what is the specs on them Diameter width and offset?

I like these wheels! What

I like these wheels! I hope they work out to be a good cheap option.

What tires are you running on them?
How do they interfere with the brakes? Why do you need to space them even with 0 offset? how thick are your spacers ?

I also like these. I have found them in USA for $107 each, but including delivery its just over $800aud for a set of 4.

Is running a rim with a  +15

Is running a rim with a  +15 offset effectively the same as 0 offset with a 15mm spacer?

Just to make sure I understand. Is your offset 0mm on the wheels plus a  -20mm spacer? = Total of  -20mm offset?

I did a bit more looking, and i think thats correct.  Does any one know the offset of the standard iO rim?  The site below has a calculator to compare wheel clearances for different sized rims & offsets.

Pajero iO offset is +46mm

The standard Pajero iO wheels have an offset  of +46mm.  The info is in the workshop manual here http://www.pajerio.com/forum/pajero-io-workshop-manual-complete-zip-file

this is huge, you almost cant go the wrong way no matter what car you used wheels from! But 0ish is about what i thought i wanted, but Pininokio is running -20mm? and that looks pretty sweet.

the +46mm centers the wheel

the +46mm centers the middle of the 6" wheel over the bearing in the hub, you want to try and maintain this centerline if you want your wheel bearings to live a long and healthy life,

so for every mm you go wider, you should increase the offset (inboard) by half a mm.

OR

maintain the 46mm offset (which is inboard) and just get wider wheels with the 46mm offset, compomotive make a nice rim though at $5000 for 4 it's a bit steep

http://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/popup.asp?wheel=59

Good poiont Bob! the bearing life is definitely shorter

Good poiont Bob!, the bearing life is definitely shorter with less offset. Something worth keeping in mind for anyone thinking about modifying there iO.

Be nice to know how much shorter, There was a thread about this subject on the Greek forum, maybe Piniokio can fill us in?
What kind of bearing life are you guys with 0 or - offsets getting ?
I think themis ha -10 offsett with 32" tires and has had to replace his bearings once.
Pininokio has -15 I think? Im not sure he has had problems with his bearings yet?

But im willing to live with a shorter bearing life for the sake of a larger lift and a wider track to help compensate for the extra height. Ill just add them to the list of things to replace once every 2 years or so.

Those wheels look nice, but yeah @ $5000! its not going to happen. there are heaps of wheels around the 44 - 45 offset to choose from, 2mm more (1mm off center) shouldnt be a big problem for the bearings?

Hi, Im also looking to lift my io and get a wheel set up like the photos posted on here. How did you go about lifting it? did you use a lift kit or get coils? also how much did it all cost?

at the beginning i just used

at the beginning i just used two longer /harder coils for the rear (80 €) and two procomp mx-6 shocks(300 €).at the front i used longer and harder coils(200€) and bilstein longer shocks(220€) .after all  that i made  two spacers 4cm for the rear shocks (that i did my shelf and the cost for the materials was aroun 70 euros.)and lately i changed the front shocks with koni heavy truck  adjustable (240€) and i modyfied the syspension to coil over (250€).the coil over coils are apex (110€).so now if you count from where the front and rear fender starts to the center of the wheel i m standing to 52 cm front(or more if i want with the coil overs) and back at 55-56

I dont think that any of

I dont think that any of these sizes will fit. The original rims are 5x114.3 stud pattern, and 16x6 in size, bear in mind you may find rims with the same stud pattern but if they are wider it will push the rim too close to the strut to fit tyres.

Toyota Kluger rims fit on the iO but are 7 inches in diameter, they are +36mm  but doesnt make much of a difference in the proximity of the strut, with wheel spacers this could be an option.

Csa wheels have +10 offset wheels in this style (16x7), not sure what they would be like offroad as they are for passenger/suv style vehicles.

It depends what size tyres

It depends what size tyres you want to run? check the manufacturers recommendations.

Some people run a wider rim than the tyres are made for and run into problems if they want to drop the air pressure for running on sand or whatever. they can pop the bead. I was going to run some 245s on 8" but with all the sand driving etc i decided id stick with my 7".
Im just going to run 2" spacers with the standard wheels for now. $175 delivered from USA was cheaper even than second hand steel wheels. Im not really happy running them, But it will do until im rich enough to buy some new wheels :)

As im sure you know, you need the 5 x 114.3mm (4.5") stud pattern. and whatever offset you want to suit the lift/whatever your intended setup is. Im following the std rule of thumb of a  1:1 lift to track ratio,  I am doing a 4" lift so want to increase the track 4" ( 2" each side ). This should take care of any body rub issues at the same time?

I see a lot of good opinions

I see a lot of good opinions here. Since im driving mostly on streets recently, I still want to look beastly on the road. Lifted option is always what I want, plus 5 inches of backspacing and is 81/2 inches wide on my wheel.
