wider tires but no lift..

Currently rolling on (what I assume) are the stock tires, 215/70 R16s, I get some rubbing on the front tires when the steering wheel is fully turned...is this normal? or are these tires biiger than stock already?

I was also wondering if I could use 225s or even 235s with no body lift/stock height? Worst case if not, I would probably just consider having the rear tires changed to something wider if possible (225 or 235) then just keep the 215s in the front.

What's the tolerance for tire width on the IO if no lifting will be done? will 225s cause problems? Can the rear wheels be equipped with 225 or 235s with no problems?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, stock tyres for the iO

Hey, stock tyres for the iO are 215/65 so yours are a bit bigger, i run 225/70's all round, i do have a suspension lift but i dont think it would rub on anything even if i didnt have the lift, it seems odd that your tyres are rubbing with only a slightly larger tyre than stock, unless your springs are sagging majorly, that is all i can come up with, my suspension lift is the best thing ive done to my iO, no more smashing on rocks and such... Hope you figure it out  :)

How about adding a wheel

How about adding a wheel spaces between the hub and the wheels? Or it can be the camber alignment as well.

I think there are special sizes for your vehicle and only that si full fit that the company recommends.

Depends on your market.

Stock for my vehicle is 215/70R16 - and that's based on the door placard.  Also, since no one else seems to have noticed, you do NOT want to use different tire sizes front & rear on a 4WD vehicle, it will put unnecessary stress on the drive train, and possibly damage the transfer case if you operate it in either the HLc or LLc modes.
