Does anybody have any experience with fitting 225/70 tires on a 00 ET wheel ? Does it fit under the low pan strut or not ? Because I am pretty sure it doesn't fit with the original wheel but the ones I will be installing have an ET of 0.
but given the fact that the OEM wheels have something like a 46mm offset, going to a 0 offset will move the tire well clear of the strut pan - the question, regardless of the tire size & clearance, now becomes can the wheel bearings survive the loading.
A 225/70 on a OEM rim might actually clear a low pan strut - I was verge of trying it last year because I was having difficulty sourcing 215/70R16s in an AT pattern - the local dealer had Pirelli Scorpions in 225/70, but I got lucky and found Bridgestone Duellers, in the 215/70 at a better price, so I went with those instead - no regrets - good traction, wet, dry & in the dirt
No personal experience ...
