Hi All.

I have noticed the ABS kick in during major losses of traction in mud and sand.

Normally can feel the pump pulsing thru the brake pedal when crossaxled and you hit the brakes to stop or slow.

It has results in not applying the brake and the vehicle rolling when it should have held... Not good on a steep downhill.

Reading thru various Mitsi forums the more modern vehicles with ABS and Traction control you can buy a kit to turn it off.

Is there any way to turn the IO's one off and for it to revert to a normal non ABS brake system.

I was thinking about pulling the fuse during off road trips. But adding a switch in the loom somewhere would be easier.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Well a bit of an update.... I

Well a bit of an update....

I have located the wire which powers the ABS ECU and have put in a switch....

I can turn it on and off on the fly.....

Will illuminate the ABS light so that tells me its off.

Naturally for off road use only....

Some say you can pull the fuse.... But the fuse also feeds other critical systems... So thats a no go,

The main fuse to the ABS pump is a bolt in unit... big one. so thats a no go too.

If anyone is keen on more info ... Ask away
