From my last trip in muddy deep water pool, the bearing in the A/C pump gave up. Some model can have the bearing replaced without removing the pump out of the car. I haven't find how yet, so I got a shorter belt to by pass the A/C pump for the time being (winter here!)

If someone got one, let me know, or I will get the sparky to put a new one in next summer.

Thanks and happy io

.

Exact same thing happened to be, had my compressor out of the car for about 12 months now.  Always meant to have it somewhere to have a new bearing put in but now I am just used to not having A/C.

You need a special tool to remove the wheel from the compressor,  Its not just a normal puller.

Apparently a bolt which doesnt have thread on the bottom of it goes down the centre to push the pump apart, but it also has something gripping the wheel so it doesnt spin.  I never saw it as its a tool only an aircon mob would have.

I think, if you remove the bolt down the centre, and go buy one like that but longer, then grind off the thread at the end. That should do it if you use some screw drivers jammed under the front to stop it spinning. Or that was my plan ages ago before bigger problems arose.
