Hi guys, im new to all this. I have the low pan struts. I've just ordered some FTO alloys, 16x6.5 et38. What I want to know is, can I fit 225/70/16 all terrains under the low strut pan??

Thanks in advance.

What country are you in?

What country are you in?

From memory the 215/70-16 just fit. I don't think the 225/70 would

For anyone interested, a 225

For anyone interested, a 225 70 16 will fit under the low strut pan using an FTO alloy wheel. There are no scrubbing issues at all and probably 10-15mm clearance between the tyre and strut pan.

I'll upload some photos later!

225/70/16

I really look forward to seeing the pictures. I was thinking to change my factory tires with Cooper STT 225/70/16 but wasn't sure if they fit on a factory rim. Regards, Cristian

On a factory rim - it may not.

I'm running 215/70R16 (which, by the way, is the OE size for my vehicle), on the OE Enkei rims (16x6JJ with 46mm offset), and there is very little clearance to the strut pan.  A 225/70 tire is 10mm wider, and 7mm taller - it's going to be a very close fit - a matter of a few millimetres - the 38mm offset of the FTO rims moves the wheel (tire/rim assembly) 8mm outwards and provides additional clearance, both sideways and because of the angle of strut pan, upwards.

As promised here's a photo.

As promised here's a photo. 225 70 16 on fto wheels. They won't fit with the offset of a stock rim.

Thank you for the photos

Thank you for the photos.

Do we need a negative offset for the rim or on a positive offset will work ok? If yes, what is the maximum positive offset we can use for 225/70/16?
