Start by replacing the bulb.

If you're referring to the two green lights that represent the rear wheels, there is a 97% probability the bulb has burned out, followed by a 1% chance of a wiring problem, 1% chance it's the controller & 1% chance a switch on the transfer case.

Agree, again, with Fordem. If the next question is "how to access this bulb", check my built thread number 128, pull the surround, a few screw and it is done....5 min at the most!

It's secured by a plastic retainer

This is the back of Claude's cluster, the bulb is under the black cover in the center - it has some additional wiring for his speedometer corrector, so it's a little different to yours.  I don't recall having to remove the film to get to the bulbs on mine, but I have removed it, it's not that difficult to do - remove all of the bulbs (twist the retainer counter clockwise and lift), make sure you know which of the warning light bulbs (on the lower left side) goes where, they are not identical, remove the screws, gently lift the edge of the ZIF socket (where the film connects in the center) and slip it out.

Reassemble in the reverse.

I just checked what you meant...I, now, understand. You can see that the bulb "socket" is just under the plastic carrying all the contactor, just at the bottom on the speedo unit.

To give a bit more space, I disconnected the electrical connection just above it (small flat screw driver, small clips on the top and bottom of it). Then with a small long nose pliers, or a 5/16 open end spanner from the bottom left (keys out of the ignition...please!), you can reach the bulb "socket"  and turn it 1/3 anti clockwise direction, and slide it from the top where you disconnected the electrical connection (with a small screw driver to help) . Little finger to put it back...

You can try to fit the one just above it, a bit on the right, to see if it does work, once you reconnect the electrical connection.

Let us know how you go...

Hang on a minute.

It works in WHICH 4WD position ?

The options are 2H, 4H, 4HLc & 4LLc - as far as I know, the only time that light goes off (with the ignition on) is if the transfer lever is in between the 4HLc & 4LLc positions.

The light wasn't working before, did you replace the bulb? and now it only work when you engage the 4x4 ? and goes "off" when going back to rear wheel drive?

In 2H only the 2 bottom green light are "on"

In 4H only the top and green light are "on"

In 4HLc the top and bottom green light are "on" as well as the middle orange light

Depending what it does, you may have an electrical fault or the switches connected wronly....or...not sure ?

I guess that you mean the section to access the speedo. You have to pull the surround, no tool needed, it is clips in, then you will see some screw to remove the speedo itselft. I have a picture of the surround on my built thread post 128.
