Hey guys i live in northern NSW aus and have owned my little io for around 6 months, already lifted it 35mm Dobinson coils and upgraded tyres to 225/70/16, its a 1.8ltr 5door petrol (wish i had the 2.0), i also bunged on some roof racks and a K&N air filter, first 4X4 and very surprised where it will go :) further plans are an exhaust and snorkel hopefully this will help to drag the bigger tyres around. further down the track maybe a turbo and some 30's or 31's love the io! Pisses on my brothers vitara :P

Dont we all wish we had a 2ltr

Welcome! Dont we all wish we had the 2ltr! laughA Turbo will more than make up for that tho wink
Chuck up some pics of your beast! be good to see how they look with 225/70/16s and Dobsons!

What are you going to do for a snorkel? I found a Brazilian design that looks sweet, I have also found 2 places that sell them, they work out to around $400 aud tho! A little pricey I think? But look a heap nicer than a home made job.

Good to hear it pisses on the vitara! hehehe,

I have an uncle up that way, have been keen to 4x4 the place for years but never had one. Next trip! youll have to show me some tracks.

The K&N help much?

Ill try put up some pics

Ill try put up some pics soon, mate theres plenty of tracks around here i live in woombah btw, i think i might try making a custom snorkel, i had a look at the brazilian snorkels bit pricey and no one seems to know how to post them here, the k&n made a fair bit of difference in acceleration and fuel efficiancy before i added the bigger tyres :P good thing is you never have to replace them, just clean them. although they are very expensive around $200 rrp i got mine for $160 but definately worth it if you have the money, theres always ebay too... i think the K&n apollo enclosed air filter would be a good idea if fitting a custom snorkel would make alot of room in the engine bay for duel battery ect. without the standard air box, check em out.

Yes it would! I recon all us southerners should try and escape the deapths of this winter with a trip up that way!

The websites only 4ish weeks old now, with any luck we might have a good iO community by then?

re: ZR's - loads of them in

re: ZR's - loads of them in wreckers for a transplant - fog lights are the first to go though and at $500 a pop new!

Only major fault in the ZR i've found is that if you squirt the windscreen with the window down it drips directly onto the mirror controller and roots it - second one busted in 6 months now :( that and you wear out tyres too fast, will spin in second due to light weight!

iO Wreckers

Realy? I assumed they would have been as rare in wreckers as they are on the road. Good to know my ring around will not be as hard as i thought :)
Do you have the name of any wreckers that have iOs?

Nice to know about the mirror controller too! i get them wet like that all the time!

um, maybe not

the internal carrier is the same, the crownwheel/pinion are apparently different BUT use the same bolt pattern to attach to the carrier

Dam, OK will see how it goes,

Dam,

OK will see how it goes, I have a couple of older Pajero LSDs that I got to use in my IP race car, I swapped the 3.545 crown and pinion from a late model starion onto one for street use, Might see how they compare bolt and size wise with the iO
