light flashing

While not 100% sure but more than likely a faulty switch. Does the light goes "off" when you apply some light pressure to the T/C gear selector toward the rear of the car ? If it does, chances are that the switch is on his way out.

The T/C have two set of switches, one have 3 switches and the other 2 switches. The set with the two switches have probably one faulty one (sorry I don't remember which one)

While not 100 % sure, I had the same pb on the io I sold, and that was the switch. I even cut open the faulty switch to see the inside, the contactor are so small....

Mitsubishi have them at around $90 each, and if I am right you are the one that mentioned "Amayama" I recently order two of those and a few other bits. If I get them and they are the right one, thanks....$20 each + freight.yes

light

Does it come off as soon as you let go the accelerator ?

I still think that it is a faulty switch, but again, I could be wrong....ask my wife !!

My Io have a similar pb, and it started like you described, then at any acceleration the light do come "on" . I think that the acceleration get something to move (like flex in the engine, gearbox mounts) and put some pressure on the shaft inside the T/C and get that switch to play up. But My light goes off when I move the T/C selector gear as describe above.

I hate these switches !!!

$$

Bugger...you didn't get away with just the cheaper switches....$600 seems to be a bit expensive for the solenoid, they may have passed a bit of time to sort it out. Is it the part number MR534632 that they replaced ?
