Gday to all. I'm a truck alignment tech, specializing in twin steer buggies.
Been using the sit as a form of technical support for number of months figured it was time to sign up. Bought my 99 5 door manual almost two years ago and been a love hate relationship ever since. I love it, . it hates me. Repairs/replacments so far have been low km gear box and transfer case (4000km), fuel supply wiring replaced, coil over plugs, clutch and fly wheel.
Upgrades so far have been slow but about to take off. So far done lift using kyb struts/shocks and king springs, soundsystem, roof racks and the gearbox is an upgrade but I can't think of the part number right now. (I'll get back to you on that one).

Upgrades underway
Currently having skid plate and side step mounting plates cut, 225/70r16 are ordered, k&n Apollo filter is waiting for me to find a decent price on alloy pipe snorkel. Think I've rambled enough for now. Look forward to chatting and learning from experienced IO owners.

Cheers frosty

Cheers mate. I was driving at

Cheers mate. I was driving at 100km turned on the A/C, felt a jolt and heard a spin off spiral sound . (like a fishing reel) and I only had direct drive after that. When we opened it was just shrapnel in there. Something let go and obviously went through the gearing, turning it to mince meat and just created a domino effect. Never seen anything like it. Not easy tracking down a replacement box though.
Fix the clutch at the same time as the box. Now apart from engine and diffs shes pretty much near new. It had to have new discs, engine mounts, front and rear bushes, bearings and windscreen to pass a roady, but dealer had to pay for that. I just had it check once I took delivery.
