Heater not not working, help please
Hey guys! I just bought a 2003 Pajero io 1.8 and I am loving it so far! It has a few things that need fixing though.
It is the middle of winter where I live and the heater does nothing. I crank it up all the way and the air coming through is cold, not even luke warm.
I'm thinking perhaps the dial isn't conecting, but before trying to open it up, I'd like to hear if you guys could share some knowledge that may help.
Thanks in advance!
how to fix heater
sounds like the cable controlng the heat/cold mixture is not connected or broken - coonly it's just unclipped.
go hunting for it on the LH side of the center-dash, here with RHD vehicles the heater cable flap thingie is just next to the back of the glovebox, on LHD cars it's likely up under the gauges.
you're looking for white plastic levers controled by the cables - something that looks like this - check that it moves with the cable etc.
Thanks!

Thanks Bob! That will help a great deal!
Sometimes ...
you have to "take the bull by the horns" - I've never opened mine up (we don't have winter here), but as far as I know it's purely mechanical - so, most likely a loose cable from the dial to the blend door.
Before you get under the dash though - check the coolant lines - left side of the motor to the rear, just above the exhaust manifold, you should find two hoses that go from the engine through the firewall - one has two sensors (temp gauge & ECU), that one is the hot "supply" line, the other is the return - make sure they are both hot after the engine has been running for 10~15 minutes - if not you might have a clogged heater core.
