Hi everyone,

hello, I'm new to the forum  im uk based and have currently owned my 2003 blue and silver 5 door (super select 4x4 elegance) 2.0 GDI shogun pinin for a year and finally got round to joining the forum

I also have had charge of a  2002 green and silver  3 door (super select 4x4 equippe) 2.0 gdi

Both ours are as they came out of the box both have alloys and roof rails, tow bar and 7 pin of the 5 door neither meet any really heavy off roading as both are daily drive cars as well.

both have their quirks  the little green one has a few rusty spots (nothing too bad though) I still need to get round to a good chassis degrease and undersealing, a custom bash plate that the previous owner made out of some nasty looking Aluminium chequer plate.  and the super select lights seem to work backwards (front ones light up when in two wheel drive and the back ones light up when in 4x4)

The blue one has had a good coat of underseal so is nice and rust free but the engine warning light comes on for a few days every now and then then turns off so I can't get it checked easily, the front axel makes a bit of a rumble (possibly a wheel bearing checking into it soon) and the rear wiper wont turn off (took the fuse out to stop it) and I suppose the suspension is getting a bit saggy.

but not had any of the standard GDI issues although that's possibly helped by the fact I did 22'000 miles this year (no breakdowns touch wood)

so yeah nice to meet everyone  if anyone knows any ways to fix the quirks mine have that would be awesome

also I know that liftting is a favourite but does anyone know of standard height after market suspension stuff?

Hi Nice to welcome a UKer on

Hi

Nice to welcome a UKer on here.smiley

Glad you got a rust free couple of Pinins.wink

Mine was/is in a state rust wise, leaking fuel filler pipe rotted through, rear bearing gone, halfshaft shagged, idle speed all over the place, oil leaks everywhere, N warning light flashing and so on.  They are a nice ride though.

My Jimny had sooooo much online support for parts from Big Jimny and others but sadly the Pinin is not nearly so well served.

Work in progress on my just acquired delapidated  2003 Vivo 11 Junior in need of TLC

Do it right, use Hammerite.

Why simpify when it is simpler to complicate.
