I just moved to Nairobi and picked up a '98 Pajero iO.  My original ride was supposed to be a Delica Space Gear, but things went horribly wrong during the customs process and now it's sitting in a container in Mombasa, and looks like it'll be there for an indefinite future.  I'd put some pics up, but I'm at work and I left my camera at home, so you'll see them later.

Anyway, I'd love to say that this car is perfect for zipping around the city, but the only thing rougher than these Narobi streets is this iO.  I have a laundry list of things I need to fix on this bad boy, such as the tires, shocks, troubleshoot the 4WD system, go through the electrical system, fix the stuck horn switch, replace a few burned out light bulbs, and give it a general all around tuneup and replacement of all fluids.

So you'll see lots of me asking lots of questions.  Glad to be back in a Mitsubishi

Welcome.

And ask away - I was where you are just over a year ago - and I think I almost have my iO where I want it - just the front suspension and the tires left to take care of, the tires are waiting on the suspension (no point in putting new tires on a vehicle that's only going to destroy them) and the suspension is waiting on springs (which I was told should be here in a few days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed)

Along the way I have done the transmission (wiring) and 4WD (wiring & shifter) and lots of bulbs.

One other question:  This site seems to be the only place that has a copy of the service manual, but when I try to download it, all I see is the post that says I have to be registered or logged on to get it.  Is there a minimum number of posts or something I hae to make before I can get that?

No, if your logged on you should be able to access the service manual right away....

Here is a direct link anyway, tell me when you have downloaded it so I can remove it.
