help! oil seal needed!
Does anyone have the part numbers for the inner and outer oil seal for the front wheel bearing on a 2002 io?
It is shown on the diagram but no part number or stock levels. .
The 1998-1999 is there but the 2000-2003 is not. Different bearing too.
I do know that the late ios share a bearing with a proton waja..
could be! - IT IS
Could very well be sealed, claude has pulled an 02 appart, I'm only dealing with it as iown the newest high-kilometer io (2003, 225k)
$47 delivered from FEBEST usa - will find out in a week if it's sealed or not :)
(EDIT)
should have read my manual before looking like a dick
front wheel bearing
Lol....these bearing gave me a hard time ! There is no seal fitted, the bearing is a sealed unit. Still there is room to fit a seal and I did fit them for extra protection (not going to hurt anyway). I don't have the ref number of the seal but you just have to measure both inner and outer diameter and get them to suit, if you want to fit some.
The number of kms on the car have a relation to the wear but some extra 4x4, water crossing, muddy pool, will damaged your bearing rather quickly too. That is why I fitted extra seal, they cost close to nothing, there is room to fit them, why not ??
There are several kit available for the Io, some listing (not just ebay) mentioned one bearing for all io and this is wrong. There are at least 2 differents size.
I got the Koyo brand, Japan made bearing, ref DAC074W-6CS61, the last 4 digit are on the box but not stamp on the bearing and they costed $80 each. The older Io have a different bearing.
I have seen the one on ebay from the US but not I wasn't sure if they were the right one....so I chicken out :)
Happy io
bearing
I have check your ref on ebay, and one give these size 40 x 74 x 36. It seems to be the correct one. I have a spare one to check....
The listing I found http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FRONT-WHEEL-BEARING-40X74X36-MITSUBISHI-LANCER-CS-2000-2009-OEM-MR519097-/261249708940?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd3b2338c
Happy io
Any chance it's a sealed bearing?
I took a look at the part listings and I've seen what you speak of - a google search on the bearing number allowed me to cross it to the rear wheel bearings on a Suzuki XL-7 which I believe are sealed.
