Hello.

I am in the process of getting a Shogun Pinin.  Is it the same as the Pajero iO?

I've had a Pajero 2.5 for some 12 years and fancied one of these.

You all seem to have 16" wheels but does the S Pinin come with 15"?

shogun pinin

Hi, they are known worldwide as any and all of the combinations below:

Pajero/montero/shogun
Io/pinin/tr4/sport

99% have alloy 16x6" wheels, (5 x circle holes)
some euros have 17x6.5" alloys,
some uk models have 16x6" steel with 5 slots
and some really early "poverty pack" models have 15x6"

I run 16x6.5" steel outlander rims or 16x6.5 alloy FTO alloys.

I'll be off to see it in a few days.  It is a Vivo 11 and I am betting it is a 'poverty' job with 6x15s.   They are alloys though!!   I could ask the seller but I am betting he's fed up with my questions now.smiley

Is there much clearance to go wider or taller??

I'd throw a picture up but it looks like this forum doesn't have that facility and I have none on my photobucket yet.frown

All alloys 16

All the alloys I've ever seen are 16"

If you have euro struts then 215/70-16 is pretty much it, upgrade to the Australian kyb strut and 225/75-16 is perfect

Shame really as I think this would look nice with something like 225 75 16.  That would give something like an inch more ground clearance.wink   I have some 225 70 16s I could have fitted.  Does the engineering on the hubs etc. stand up to bigger wheel loads well?  I have a jimny I am getting rid of and it is very weak in this department.

easily

easily - guys in greece run stupid rims and offsets without issue.

the australian KYB and some 225/75-16 tyres, a 40mm front lift and 40mm rear lift is totally achievable, cheap and makes a huge difference

Thanks for the info.  It

Thanks for the info.  It might be a while before I get around to that!  I have now bought it and it is home.  It has an issue with the sunroof that I have put a post up elsewhere about and some other things need attending to.

I do like it overall but I have got some work to do I think. It seems to me like a large Jimny with Rav 4 characteristics.  I am about to start scrambling underneath it to see if it is a keeper.  It will be a street princess as I have no intenetion of off roading it other than on the farm and of course in the snow.
