Hey guys!

Newbie here, glad I found this site!

Got a slight problem on my pinin, I have a leak on the front right drivers side but only leaks once I’ve been driving for about 10 mins.

Only notice it when can to a stop and saw steam coming from the right front of the bonnet. Not a huge amount of steam but stopped and opened the bonnet to check.

Could not find the leak. Just the water droplets around the coolant overflow bottle and headlamp.

Also the check engine light is on and I’ve had it checked and got a few codes but light keeps coming back on once cleared.

Anyone know what’s up?

Thanks guys!

Miki

Is it the same codes every time the lights comes on?

First - do you think the codes tell you something?  anything??  Did you fix the problem or just clear the code?  What were/are the code(s)?

Second - how full is the coolant expansion reservoir (hint - it's not an "overflow" bottle) - and the coolant expansion reservoir has an overflow hose which ends up just behind the headlamp - could the problem be that the bottle is too full so that when the coolant expands (which it does) and flows over to the expansion reservoir (which is normal), it just pushes the excess coolant out the overflow?

Third - how full is the radiator?  Have you been topping it up?  A defective radiator cap can allow expanding coolant to be transferred to the reservoir but not be returned to the radiator as it should and this situation can lead to the reservoir eventually overflowing - I've also had a cracked reservoir cap cause this problem.

Thanks so much for the

Thanks so much for the reply!

Right so, my radiator is cracked and I need a new one! I’ll be replacing it next month. I’ve just been refilling the rad every two days as the leak isn’t rapid. The codes have been cleared but I can tell you that they included the following:

Barometric pressure sensor
Fuel temperature sensor
Coolant sensor

Not sure what they mean?

Same codes when cleared.

I’ll try get the actual codes tomorrow.

Will check the res cap to see if it’s cracked as well!

Really appreciate the help, thanks so much!

Performance wise, no issues?
