Hi there members of this forum!

So i am traveling trough Australia with my girlfriend in a 2002 2.0L pajero io wich we bought a couple of month ago.

Last owner gave us no service history on it, the only thing he could say was that he had owned it for 3 years and had driven 100k with it.
Now in the middle of nowhere our timing-belt snapped and it was still not due for another 25k.. We are currently in WA Tom price and i have found equipment to do a pressure-test on the engine. After that (and i assume it has taken damage since it does not drive well at all) we will start taking it apart to see if it could only be valves or if its more work to do.

Now i dont want to spend to much on this car due to our budget, i am searching for a engine or mabye only another head for the engine, will know more about the damage tomorrow and what i am after..

If any one of you guys have some tips or mabye have one of these engines laying around or just the head it could be of interest to us!

Has anyone had this happen to them with this motor and how did yours do after?

Thankyou mini-pajero enthusiasts!!
