Hi guys, I have a set of FRONT Raised King Springs for sale.

They were fitted into my 5 door 1999 io and have done about 2, yes 2 kms of travel.

I took them out because when I fitted them to struts with the higher spring pans, they basically topped my struts out - not good.  They'd be fine for fitment into an io with the original struts.

I'm after $100 or there abouts, located in Paradise, suburb of Adelaide.  I could post them at your expense but would then require payment up front.

Prefer SMS or call on 0439 184 419. Cheers.

Fab.

FRONT Raised King Springs

Hi

Do you still have the springs?

I am in Prospect so happy to come over and have a look. I am looking at raising the car (front and back) a bit as I tend to bottom out the suspension when fully loaded for a trip. I have a 2002 5 door 2ltr. They should fit ??

spring

I think that "Fab" is on holiday... you have been on the forum for a while, so I think that it is safe to say that you know about the (at least) 2 different front strut. Your car should have the higher strut, and fitting these spring may give you a bit too much lift! and max out your strut (no down travel left). Other have fitted a strut extender to compensate this (we all have different view regarding these strut extender, but no pb have been reported...yet...)

These spring used to be for sale on ebay. A meeting with "Fab" should give you a great understanding of what can be done, how to do it, or not!

All the best with your lift

Happy io.

Howdy...yep I was on holidays

Howdy...yep I was on holidays but I'm back now.

If you want to try the springs out before you commit, I'm fine with that.  Give me a call during "normal" hours on 0477 339 210.  I'm in Paradise...just near the O'Bahn interchange.  I start work really early so please don't ring after 8pm.  :)

BTW...total damage bill for nearly 3000kms of some pretty rough dirt roads..... the heater cable unclipped and hence was stuck on heat setting, the rear cargo door handle has stiffened up due to all the dust, and some nugget sprayed me with rocks on the Oodnadatta track which left a juicy crack in my windscreen.

The upside.... the io was the only vehicle (according to a crowd of about 15 other fourbies) to make it up the extreme track of Big Red on it's first attempt.  Second gear/low range.  Infact I found myself backing right off before I crested, in contrast to others that were screaming just to make the top.  I then showed off by crawling her all the way up at only about 20kmph.

Some video footage is available on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuDa7VR93YE   I'll write a report up probably this weekend with some wicked shots around the Birdsville/Marree area.

Nice video

I have seen some video of 4wd trying to go up these hill, you just cleared it nicely! the smaller weight must be a good advantage! It is safe to say that these km2 are great, even on the sand...can't wait to read your report...sorry about the "juicy!" cracked windscreen

Happy io
