[SOLD] 99' Pajero IO 5 door 1.8l Manual for Sale: Gold Coast
Hi Guys,
We purchased a new Mitsubishi Challenger this weekend to upgrade from the IO. We needed more space, good towing capacity and good Ancap rating for the future Jr. while still having the off road capability in the new car. :)
The car belongs to my Mrs and she used it drive from home to the station and for supermarket trips. Now that she works from home, she only uses it to do her shopping.
Never been to any beach (or any sort of sand). Only did one fire trail drive to Bob_oz's place.
We bought the car around 2010 in Melbourne. Used the car to drive from Melb to Adelaide and back. Even drove down from Melbourne to Gold Coast in this car when we moved. So I can vouch, it is a safe and reliable car.
The good points:
- Low kms (136.xxx kms)
- Gearbox/Engine etc in good condition. Never gave us any trouble. Always maintained with regular servicing.
- Interior is well maintained
- We purchased a mitsi logbook when we bought the car back in 2010 and have maintained every service/work done to the car. (Except the last few odd bits of work which I did myself, so don't have them documented)
- It has new timing belt, changed at 100,000 (receipt provided)
- It has KYB suspension put in around 2011...haven't done much Kms or any off road driving since (apart from one small fire trail run to Bob's place :) )
- The left rack end was changed along with the suspension work
- New camber pins put in along with suspension work
- All gears and 4wd works perfectly
- Changed all leads and coils and spark plugs around 500 kms back (or even less) --> did this myself
- Changed oil and oil filter along with the sparks, coils and leads. ---> did this myself
- Replaced the front sway bar links 1000 ish kms back. --> did this myself
- I changed the head unit (from the stock cassette player you see in the pics) to a Kenwood cd player with aux input. Basic one but CD and aux input is better than ruining your precious cassette tapes :P
- Alpine Type S front speakers, stock rear ones.
- Brand new set of Osram Nightbreaker Plus. Good set of headlight globes, not the hektik blue shade :P
- New battery replaced sometime last year I think. (need to check receipt)
- ROH wheels (including spare; 4+1)
- Main 4 tyres are well above road worthy condition while the spare is brand new.
The bad points:
- The dreaded flashing orange light of the diff-lock. I have taken it to Mitsubishi to have them scan codes etc. No error codes came up, and they confirmed the diff lock was working properly. Its the solenoids/switches which needed to be replaced if I wanted the flashing light to get fixed. I asked if it affects the vehicle's operation? They said no..."spend the money if the flashing light bothers you, or you can keep on driving it like that."
From what I have picked up from all the threads here, a Pajero's solenoid/switches should work as a replacement and I can get them off the wreckers. Was planning to get them replaced, but never got around to it. I don't think I will have the time to fix this.
- The driver side rear passenger power window is not working. Its up all the way, so no security/nature damage threat. I have eliminated the problem being switches (neither the driver side switch cluster or it's individual switch makes it work. I also swapped switches from the working side to test), and fuse.
Most probably it's the motor. I intend to fix it by picking up a motor from the wrecker.
- Has some paint peel off at the front bumper.
- Has minor cosmetic flaws for it's age.
- Rego expiring in Feb 2014
It's Mrs' car and she has an asking price of around $4,500 nego. But if you are happy to take it without me going through the trouble of fixing the power window, I am happy to get the price down for you.
With the new car coming, we don't want to keep paying regos for 4 vehicles. :| (Might have a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200S motorbike up for sale as well)
